VPABC Scholarship Foundation Committee chair

Do you have a passion for helping young people achieving their career goals through a scholarship program? Do you love being an entrepreneur and building up a team from scratch? Do you love volunteering and contributing forward to the community? Then join us!  VPABC is looking for a Committee Chair for our VPABC Scholarship Foundation.

Term:  2 years (renewal option is possible)

Salary:  None, as it is a volunteer position. There is a potential stipend in the future as the foundation grows.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire operation of the VPABC Scholarship program

• Build a team to help carry out the program’s vision

• Organize charity fundraising events for the purpose of scholarship and bursary funds by means of ticket sale events, lottery campaigns, or any other fundraising means.

• Solicit regular patrons for the scholarship/bursary funds.

• Invest and manage the funds to ensure the long-term self-sustainability of the foundation.

• Distribute the funds to graduate high school students and post-secondary students based on merits and/or financial situations.

• Collaborate with other non profit organizations and post secondary institutions

• Work with VPABC Board of Directors (BOD) to further the program’s objectives

Qualifications

• Some previous leadership experience

• Some previous project management experience

• Honest and Integrous

• Work well with others

• Knowledge about charities and non-profit regulations/bylaws (training is available)

• Active (or willing to be) in the Vietnamese community

• Able to commit enough time around various projects

• Basic understanding of accounting principles (training is available)

Requirement: Must be VPABC member (annual membership fee is $50)
